Cycle safety debate after cyclist death near Olympic Park

The death of a 28-year-old cyclist close to the Olympic Park has re-ignited the debate over safety of junctions in London.

Daniel Harris, of Ilford, died on Wednesday after being struck at the junction of Ruckholt Road and East Cross Route in Hackney by an official Games bus carrying journalists.

London Cycling Campaign's Gerhard Weiss said they had raised concerns about junctions in the area several times.

His comments come after Olympic gold medallist Bradley Wiggins backed laws for both cyclists and motorists.
