Games Lane turns Wapping into island, say residents
On the day the Olympic Route Network came into force residents in one east London community claim they have been virtually cut off by the changes.
The restrictions apply to 30 miles of Games Lanes which can only be used by Olympic athletes, officials and sponsors.
People who use the lanes without authorisation risk a fine of £130.
Residents in Wapping, which is entirely surrounded by a Games Lane, say they support the Olympics but do not like the road restrictions.
BBC London's Transport Correspondent Tom Edwards has been talking to residents in Wapping, Transport for London's Garrett Emmerson and Wapping High School head Paul Guenault.
