Detectives investigating the disappearance of a businesswoman have charged a man with fraud offences after hundreds of thousands of pounds were taken from her bank accounts.

Carole Waugh, 50, was last seen in central London on 4 May.

Rakesh Bhayani 40, of Chamberlayne Avenue, Wembley, has been charged with three counts of conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation.

He will appear via virtual court at Westminster Magistrates' Court later.

The disappearance of Ms Waugh, who lives in the West End of London, is said to be "very out of character".

Officers from Scotland Yard last week arrested four men and two women in connection with their inquiry.

The charges relate to transactions associated with Ms Waugh's identity worth in the region of £280,000, police said.

Last week five other people were arrested in connection with her disappearance, the Met said.
