Man dies after Farringdon nightclub stabbing

A man in his 30s has died in hospital after being stabbed outside a central London nightclub.

The victim was attacked at about 08:15 BST, in Charterhouse Street, Farringdon.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said one man has been arrested over the stabbing.

Charterhouse Street was sealed off to traffic while forensic officers investigated at the scene the crime.

The man was stabbed after trouble started close to the Raduno nightclub between a group of men and women, police said.

When police arrived they found a man on the pavement who had been stabbed in the chest.

Det Ch Insp John Osibote, from the City of London Police, said: "The group were seen to leave the nightclub and move out onto Charterhouse Street where there was an altercation that has ended with one man dead and five others arrested on suspicion of murder.

"It is now important for our investigation that people who saw the incident, witnessed the group during the course of the night or have information linked to the circumstances of this man's death to contact us immediately."
