The suspect in the attempted murder of a Russian banker was captured on CCTV moments after the shooting in east London, police have said.

German Gorbuntsov, 45, was shot several times with a pistol near his flat in the Isle of Dogs on 20 March.

Scotland Yard said images show the gunman just after the shooting at 19:24 GMT walking along Manilla Street, towards Marsh Wall, carrying a bag.

Mr Gorbuntsov remains in hospital in a stable condition.

A gun, a hooded top and a bag, were discovered near Manilla Street.

Det Chief Insp Russell Taylor said: "We are continuing to examine CCTV footage from the area and are keen to speak with anyone who may have information about the shooting."

The suspect is described as white, 6ft (183cm) tall and of slim build, wearing a dark hooded top and jeans.

He was seen running from Byng Street away from Westferry Road towards the Marsh Wall area.

The Met said it retained an "open mind" regarding a motive.

There have been no arrests.
