A woman accused of breaking into Simon Cowell's home brandishing a broken brick has been remanded in custody.

Leanne Zaloumis, 29, of Catford, south-east London, allegedly broke in to the Holland Park home of the X Factor founder.

She appeared at West London Magistrates' Court charged with aggravated burglary.

The alleged break-in took place at the west London home of the talent show creator at 22:30 GMT on Saturday.

Known for his outspoken views, Cowell is famous on both sides of the Atlantic for his role as a judge on shows such as The X Factor, Britain's Got Talent and American Idol.

The 52-year-old is estimated to have a £200m fortune, according to last year's Sunday Times Rich List.
