Bomber Command memorial 'nearing completion'
A tribute to the more than 55,000 men of RAF Bomber Command, who lost their lives serving their country, is being built at Green Park and will be unveiled by the Queen.
Bomber Command's role was to attack Germany's air bases, troops, shipping and industrial complexes connected to the World War II effort.
It has been described as the "last truly great memorial of the two World Wars that needs to be built" and the BBC's Kurt Barling has been given a preview of it.
