Award-winning composer Stephen Sondheim has declared his excitement about the imminent West End transfer of his musical Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street.

The production comes from Chichester Festival Theatre and will play at the Adelphi Theatre, just one mile from Todd's fictional Fleet Street barber shop.

"It's a London musical and a love letter to London," Sondheim told the BBC's Brenda Emmanus.

Six national newspapers have given a five-star rating to the production starring Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton.
