London plastic surgeon recalls Oscar documentary win
A London-based plastic surgeon is the subject of a documentary short that has just won an Oscar.
Dr Mohammad Ali Jawad first came to fame for saving the face of Katie Piper, the model disfigured by an acid attack in north London.
The winning film in which he features, follows him leaving his Wimpole Street practice every three months to treat victims of similar attacks in Pakistan, his birthplace.
Newly returned from Los Angeles, he told the BBC he "never expected to be on the red carpet".
