Metropolitan Police hearing 'could be held in public'

The police watchdog is to consult on whether disciplinary proceedings against three Metropolitan Police officers should be held in public.

The hearing relates to allegations that officers from Enfield, assaulted a group of people during a drugs raid in Tottenham, north London.

The alleged assaults took place in November 2008, Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said.

A public misconduct hearing has never happened before in the Met police area.
