Policeman injured in knife attack in Hanwell

A police officer has been attacked by a man armed with a knife in west London.

The officer suffered minor injuries to his wrist in the incident in Cowper Road in Hanwell on Saturday morning.

Two PCs had been called to reports of a man shouting through the night and were attacked after they went into a house, police said.

A man, 56, suffered a head injury and is being treated in hospital. The injured officer is expected to be released from hospital soon.
