Girl denies murdering Julie Sheriff with a steel comb

A teenage girl has pleaded not guilty to murder after a 16-year-old girl from London was fatally injured when a steel comb was stabbed into her head.

Julie Sheriff died on 21 September from a brain injury after being in a coma since the incident on 7 May.

Police said she had been visiting friends in Falcon Road, Battersea, in south London, when she was stabbed.

The defendant, also aged 16, has been remanded in custody to face trial on 23 January.
