The Metropolitan Police's (Met) handling of an incident in which a man was shot dead close to a funeral is to be investigated.

Azezur Khan, 21, was killed in East Dulwich, south-east London, on 3 November.

The Met said it had received information before the funeral. It has referred the matter to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

The inquiry will look at how the Met acted on that information.

Mr Khan, from south-east London, was shot as he attended the funeral of 17-year-old car crash victim Joel Morgan.

A second male, thought to be in his late teens, was taken to hospital with a bullet wound to the ankle. He is in a stable condition.

Police arrested two men and two teenage girls over the shooting. They have been bailed to return in late November.
