Girl, 15, accused of Julie Sheriff comb murder

A 15-year-old girl has appeared at the Old Bailey accused of killing a 16-year-old with a steel comb.

The teenager, who cannot be named, is charged with murdering Julie Sheriff, from Hackney, who died on 21 September after being attacked on 7 May.

She died of a brain injury after being stabbed in the head with the comb in Falcon Road, Battersea, south London.

The defendant was remanded to secure accommodation to face trial on 23 January.

Julie, who was visiting her friends in the area, had been in a coma since the incident.
