Court bid to save London libraries fails

Campaigners have lost their High Court bid to save six libraries in north-west London earmarked for closure.

In April Brent Council announced plans to shut half of its libraries in order to cut council spending.

Brent SOS Libraries sought the judicial review, arguing the decision failed to assess local needs and the impact of the closures.

The affected libraries were closed following the ruling.
