Teenage boy stabbed in Hackney street

A teenage boy has been stabbed in an east London street, prompting an appeal for information by detectives.

Police were called at 14:30 BST on Friday to reports of a stabbing outside Rivermead House on Homerton Road, Hackney.

Officers attended the scene to find the 15-year-old victim had already made his way to a local hospital.

Four young men were seen cycling through traffic on bicycles close to the scene before the attack.

'Three buses'

The boy has since been transferred to another hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable.

Det Con Kevin Ives said: "This incident happened in broad daylight. Three buses drove by near the time of the attack.

"Homerton Road is a very busy high road and is the main route to the A12.

"I would urge anyone who was on one of those buses and saw anything, or anyone else in the area who knows anything, to come forward, no matter how insignificant they may think their information is."
