Royal Albert Hall marks 140-year milestone

Help

London's Royal Albert Hall is marking its 140th birthday.

The south Kensington venue - opened by Queen Victoria in memory of her late husband Prince Albert - is perhaps best known for the Last Night of the Proms.

Over the years however a host of famous names have appeared on the main stage, from the Beatles to Frank Sinatra to Edward Elgar.

Brenda Emmanus has been behind the scenes with performers and production staff to see what goes into staging a performance.
