London 2012 Olympics jobs website goes live

People interested in a job at the 2012 London Olympics can now register on a new recruitment website.

Tens of thousands of posts will be on offer, ranging from catering and cleaning to customer services and technical roles, from March.

Those registered on the Jobs for the Games website will be alerted as soon as relevant jobs become available.

The London organising committee has a target of employing 15-20% of the total workforce from the six host boroughs.

Paul Deighton, of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (Locog), said it was committed to recruiting a diverse workforce and helping people get their first foot on the career ladder.

"There will be tens of thousands of jobs available over the next 18 months and I would urge people to register their interest and make sure they hear about the opportunities first," he said.

Adecco, which is running the site, is the official recruitment partner of Locog and will be advertising all contractor jobs associated with the 2012 Games on the new website.

All jobs generated by London 2012 and funded by the organising committe will still be advertised on Locog's website.
