Lambeth Council cuts meeting interrupted by protest

Help

Lambeth councillors have finalised budget cuts in an effort to save £79m - despite protesters storming the chamber during the meeting.

Proceedings at Lambeth Town Hall were interrupted when more than 100 protesters burst into the meeting room on Wednesday night.

They repeatedly shouted "shame on you" before locking themselves into the chamber.

Councillors moved to another room and the meeting went on behind closed doors.
