Man seriously injured in Hackney shooting

A man is in his early 20s was seriously hurt when he was shot in east London, police said.

He was attacked at about 0630 GMT in Upper Clapton Road, Hackney, the Metropolitan Police said.

Officers were called after members of the public heard several gunshots fired near a nightclub.

A man with at least one bullet wound was taken to an east London hospital. He is in intensive care in a life-threatening condition.
