Girl, 17, killed as car hits pole in New Addington

A 17-year-old girl died when the car she was travelling in hit a telegraph pole in south London.

The victim, who is yet to be named, was one of three females in the car when it crashed in New Addington at 0315 BST.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family have been informed.

The driver and another passenger were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver was arrested over the crash.

Any witnesses have been asked to contact the Metropolitan Police
