Suspected London burglar's legs left dangling

A suspected burglar was left with his legs dangling from a window in east London after he got stuck, apparently while trying to climb through.

Police were called to a house in Tomlins Grove, Bow, after the householder spotted the man's head and upper body poking through the window.

It appeared the 36-year-old's bottom prevented him from squeezing through.

A man has been charged with burglary. He will appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "It appears the resident had come down and found the man.

"He was stuck half in, half out."

Firefighters from Bow Fire Station had to remove the window frame at the house to rescue the man.
