Police investigating a double shooting in east London have released details of a car they want to trace.

The victims, men aged 23 and 21, were shot in the leg and back respectively in Dagenham on Saturday night.

The men - one of whom suffered life-changing injuries - remain in a stable condition in hospital.

Police believe they were travelling in a black Range Rover Sport before it was flagged down by the attackers. The car has now gone missing.

It is believed the two gunmen forced their way into the car before opening fire.

The first victim managed to escape, while the second victim was driven to a nearby street and dropped off before he called police.

A new Range Rover Sport costs more than £40,000.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police's Operation Trident unit, which looks at gun crime in London's African and Caribbean communities, are investigating the shootings.
