A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being shot in east London.
The 19-year-old suffered several gunshot wounds in Powell Road, Hackney, at about 1620 BST on Saturday.
The Metropolitan Police said the victim was airlifted to a north London hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The force has appealed for anyone with information about the incident to contact officers.
Wife expected soldier 'to be safe'
