Alert over missing mental unit patient in London

Timothy Saunders Police believe Timothy Saunders is still in London

Police have warned people not to approach a man who has absconded from a mental health unit in central London.

Timothy Saunders, 40, went missing from the Hammersmith and Fulham Mental Health Unit at Charing Cross Hospital, Fulham Palace Road, on Thursday.

He is described as black, about 5ft 9in and of large build. He was last seen wearing an Argentina football jersey with blue jeans and white trainers.

The Metropolitan Police believe he is still in London.

The force said Saunders was convicted of assaulting a police officer.

Officers have advised anyone who sees him to call 999 immediately.
