A major road near Lincoln has reopened after a gas leak caused traffic problems around the city.

The A158 was closed between Bunkers Hill and Sudbrooke, to the north east, following the problem during rush hour traffic just after 08:00 BST.

During the closure motorists had their journey's to the coast delayed with an eight mile diversion.

The National Grid said the leak was the second in a year and so the pipe would be replaced.

It added that gas supplies to homes were not affected.
