Police are treating the previously unexplained death of a man in Lincolnshire as murder.

Officers found the body of Ivans Zdanovics at a house in Etherington Street, Gainsborough, on Friday.

Lincolnshire Police said at some point before the 24-year-old was discovered the house had been on fire.

A post-mortem examination has been carried out and police said early indications were that he died as a result of smoke inhalation.

Officers have appealed to anyone who saw Mr Zdanovics on Thursday evening to contact them.
