Boston home gun raider Jamie Holland jailed

A man who held a woman at gunpoint during a raid at her home has been jailed for 13 years.

Jamie Holland, 26, was one of two men who burst into the victim's home in Pilleys Lane, Boston, in September.

Lincoln Crown Court heard he pushed woman, 62, to the ground and held her at gunpoint, but fled empty-handed when the victim's husband arrived home.

Holland, of White House Lane, Boston, admitted attempted robbery and possession of an imitation firearm.

Judge Michael Heath, passing sentence, said it was clear the Pilleys Lane hold-up had a devastating effect on the victim and her husband, turning their lives upside down.

In mitigation, Holland's defence lawyer told the court he was desperate after running up gambling debts of £50,000.
