North Hykeham cars burnt in arson attack

Six cars were burnt in an arson attack which police said could easily have spread to homes and endangered lives.

Lincolnshire Police has dropped hundreds of leaflets in the North Hykeham area to help them trace those responsible.

The cars were targeted in Caesar Road and Taurus Avenue between 04:00 and 04:20 BST on Tuesday.

Insp James Trafford said police are not sure why the cars were set alight but they are "looking at every angle".

Some of the cars were close to each other, which meant the fire could have spread between them.

"The way they were positioned would suggest there may have been some that were not intentionally damaged," he said.
