Man injured in Lincoln hammer attack

Revolution Bar in Lincoln Neither victim nor suspect had been in the Revolution Bar but staff called 999

A 21-year-old man is in hospital after being attacked with a claw hammer in Lincoln.

The attack happened in Hungate, near the Revolution Bar and Home nightclub, in Park Street, at about 00:50 BST on Sunday, police said.

The victim, from Scunthorpe, is in a stable condition following surgery at Sheffield's Royal Hallamshire hospital.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is due to be questioned.

Detectives have appealed for information.

Police confirmed neither man had been in the Revolution Bar or Home nightclub on Saturday night but staff had given assistance to the victim.
