Lincolnshire man's shotgun injury 'accidental'

A man who was shot in the chest may have been injured as a result of the weapon discharging accidentally, Lincolnshire Police have said.

The 50-year-old man from Old Leake, near Boston, was taken to hospital on Thursday evening with a shotgun wound to his chest.

Police initially said the incident was "domestic-related".

A 28-year-old man who was arrested at the time has since been released on bail.

Detectives said the injured man remains in Pilgrim Hospital and is expected to make a good recovery.

The police investigation involves the origin of the weapon and the legality of its possession.
