A man has been hit over the head with what appeared to be a gun during a robbery at a Lincolnshire farm.

Three men entered Gate Farm, in Holbeach Road, Spalding, after midday on Friday, and sprayed a male member of staff with a pepper like substance.

Police said he was then assaulted and hit with the weapon. The men made off with a large amount of cash.

The men, who did not speak during the attack were caught on CCTV. Police have appealed for more information.

Detectives have issued a description of the three white men.

The first was of slim build with short dark hair. He was wearing a dark coloured top with a yellow hood, blue jeans and dark shoes.

Another was also of slim build with dark hair, wearing a grey, or black, bomber-style jacket, white jogging bottoms and black footwear.

The final suspect was wearing a dark top with a horizontal stripe across the middle, white baseball cap, dark bottoms and white trainers.

The staff member was treated by paramedics for the effects of the spray, but did not go to hospital.
