Armed police seal off flats after officers 'faced by gunman'
Armed police officers sealed off a block of flats in Lincoln after they were confronted by a man carrying what was thought to be a gun.
Police were called to an area off Moorland Avenue shortly before 19.30 BST after an alarm was activated.
Lincolnshire Police said responding officers were met by a man with what was believed to be a gun.
At 23:25 BST police said the incident had been brought to a "safe conclusion" but did not give any further details.
Lincolnshire Police confirmed that specialist police negotiators attended the scene.
Tactical Firearms Commander Chief Insp Daryl Pearce said a full investigation into the circumstances of the incident was now under way.
