A 41-year-old man has appeared at crown court charged with murdering a man and woman in the Lincolnshire town of Boston.

Mehmet Ali Ozen, of Red Lion Street, Boston, is charged with murdering Charlotte Piccaver and Darren Harwood, both 26, on Sunday.

He is also charged with attempting to murder 24-year-old Keyleigh Wright.

Mr Ozen, a Turkish-born British national, was remanded in custody at Lincoln Crown Court.

He is due to appear at the same court on 26 July, when he is expected to enter a plea.

The charges follow a disturbance at a property in Red Lion Street early on Sunday morning.

Charlotte Piccaver was pronounced dead at the scene and Darren Harwood died later in the Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. Both had suffered stab wounds.

Keyleigh Wright was taken to the same hospital where she was treated for less serious injuries.
