Boston double murder: Mehmet Ozen charged

A 41-year-old man has been charged with murdering a man and woman in the Lincolnshire town of Boston.

Mehmet Ozen, of Red Lion Street, has also been charged with attempting to murder a 24-year-old woman.

Charlotte Piccaver, 26, died at a house in Red Lion Street on Sunday and Darren Harwood, 26, died later in hospital.

Mr Ozen appeared at Lincoln Magistrates' Court earlier and was remanded in custody to appear at Lincoln Crown Court on Thursday.

He confirmed his name, date of birth and address via a Turkish interpreter.

Police said Ms Piccaver and Mr Harwood sustained injuries "consistent with stabbing", according to preliminary findings of a post-mortem examination.
