Developer plans £9m expansion for Lincoln shopping centre
Developers are submitting plans for a £9m expansion of one of the biggest shopping centres in Lincoln.
The owners of Waterside Centre said the redevelopment, including the addition of two major clothing retailers, could create about new 100 jobs.
Centre manager Roy Greening said the plan is to "transform" the centre despite the recent economic downturn.
Mr Greening said: "Footfall is suffering at the moment but we think there are good times ahead."
The Capital & Regional plans will be submitted to City of Lincoln Council for planning permission.
The shopping centre, located just off the city's High Street, opened in 1991 and attracts about 87,000 shoppers a week.
