Warrant issued for child rapist Ambrose Clifton

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a convicted child rapist who was taken to hospital after a suspected drugs overdose.

Ambrose Clifton was due to be sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court.

The 71-year-old from South Reston, near Louth, was convicted of rape, sexual activity with a child and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

He also faced charges of taking and making indecent images. He was granted bail after a trial earlier this year.

He is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of a hospital on Humberside, and will be arrested when he is medically fit to be released.
