Fire breaks out at Caythorpe recycling centre

Firefighters are dealing with a large building fire at a recycling plant in Lincolnshire, which has been burning for several hours.

Emergency crews were called to the blaze in Caythorpe, near Grantham, at about 01:00 BST on Thursday.

Paul Mead, from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, said the building contained mixed recycling material and has been extensively damaged.

Local residents are advised to keep their doors and windows closed.

It is thought it could take several days for the fire to die down.

The cause of the fire is undetermined but it is not being treated as suspicious.
