Lincoln woman, 72, dies after serious assault at home

A 72-year-old woman who was assaulted in her home in Lincolnshire has died.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. A post mortem examination is due to take place on Saturday.

The woman, who police named as Margaret Lynette Krawcewicz, died at Lincoln County Hospital on Friday.

Officers said they were called to St Botolph's Crescent, off High Street, on Friday morning after a report a woman had been assaulted.
