Long Sutton garage shop targeted by armed robbers

Armed men have fled the scene of an attempted robbery in Lincolnshire after being disturbed by passers-by.

The two suspects, wearing balaclavas, entered the BP garage in Wisbech Road, Long Sutton, late on Wednesday evening.

They threatened staff with what witnesses described as a handgun and demanded money, but were disturbed by customers entering the shop.

Officers have appealed for information, particularly if discarded items of clothing have been found nearby.
