Arrest after fatal crash on A17 near Sutterton roundabout

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a fatal crash in Lincolnshire.

A 78-year-old man from Hemsworth died in hospital after the crash, which happened on the A17 near Sutterton roundabout on Sunday.

The man who died was driving a silver Vauxhall Meriva, which collided with a beige Vauxhall Zafira shortly before 16:30 BST.

Police arrested the 21-year-old driver of the Zafira, who was uninjured.

He has since been released on bail.

The road was closed until about 22:00 BST while investigations were carried out.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw either cars before the crash.
