Huge donkey welcomed at Lincolnshire animal sanctuary
A Lincolnshire animal sanctuary has welcomed an extra large new arrival.
Miss Ellie, an American Mammoth Jackstock imported from the US in 2010, towers over other breeds at the Radcliffe Donkey Sanctuary near Sutton-on-Sea.
The super-sized animal, who measures 8ft (2.4m) to the top of her ears, was taken in by the centre after its owners were no longer able to look after her.
Andrew Rae, from the sanctuary, said some visitors had asked if Miss Ellie was "a freak of nature".
