Deputy takes charge as police probe school 'allegation'

A deputy head has taken over the running of a Lincolnshire primary school being investigated by police.

Lincolnshire County Council said head teacher Paul Reid was not currently at Spalding's St John the Baptist School and Helen Stray had taken charge.

Police confirmed it was making inquiries at the school into an "allegation" made last week. The force said it would not comment further.

The council described it as a "confidential employment matter".
