Kieren Fallon escapes immediate road ban

Former champion jockey Kieren Fallon has escaped an immediate driving ban after appearing at Lincoln magistrates.

The 46-year-old, of Bury Road, Newmarket, faces a six-month ban after his latest conviction took him to more than 12 points on his driving licence.

He had denied an offence under the Road Traffic Act in October, but was found guilty in his absence in January.

Magistrates adjourned the hearing for three weeks after being told any ban would cause "exceptional hardship".

Mr Fallon failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle, who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence, which was committed between May and June last year at Nettleham, Lincolnshire, it was said.

The six-times champion jockey is due to next appear before Lincoln magistrates on 24 June.
