American deal for Lincolnshire bubble car business

Help

An unusual Lincolnshire business which makes scale model Messerschmitt bubble cars is looking to expand and create local jobs.

Bamby cars, based near Gainsborough, is run by Alan Evans and his daughter Emma from a small workshop.

The 50cc two-thirds scale models are all hand-made and each one does about 70 miles to the gallon with a top speed of 25mph (40kph).

They are for off-road, private land use only, although a road legal prototype is being planned.

The company has just exported 10 cars to America and their order book is full for the next two years.
