Flooding risk waterway near Boston is cleared
A five-week project to reduce the flooding risk to villages and farmland in a part of Lincolnshire has begun.
The Environment Agency is clearing trees and shrubs from in and around the Stonebridge Drain - upstream of Boston.
Branches could slow the movement of water, especially at times of flood, and also trapped rubbish which can block the channel, the agency said.
Branches from the clearance will be chipped and used to maintain nearby woodland.
