Move to cut managers at Lincolnshire adult care

A review of adult social care in Lincolnshire has recommended a cut of 135 jobs in management staff.
Lincolnshire County Council has confirmed a review paper has called for a streamlining of supervisory roles in the department.
Opposition councillor Marianne Overton said the adult social care staff would be cut to 63 from 171 posts.
The council said the move would not mean a cut in front-line services, only a reduction of management posts.
County Councillor Graham Marsh said: "It is about taking out management layers rather than front-line workers and that is quite right and proper that we should be putting the bulk of our resources into … delivering front-line services.
"We need to be a lean organisation that offers value for money and I am firmly of the view that the money we spend should be spent on providing services and not paying for managers we do not need."
Richard Banks, from Unison, said he was concerned that not all the cuts would be management positions and that more responsibilities would be put on more junior members of staff.
Staff will be given 18 days to express an interest in redundancy or to apply for one of the remaining posts.
