Husband charged with wife's murder on M1

M1 near junction 22 Tracy Walters died in hospital two days after the crash in March

A 50-year-old man has been charged with murdering his wife in a crash on the M1 motorway in Leicestershire.

Tracy Maria Walters, 48, from Swindon, died in hospital two days after a collision on the southbound M1, near Markfield in March.

Police said the Mitsubishi L200 she was travelling in crashed off the carriageway.

Her husband, Ian John Walters, has been charged with murder and remanded in custody.

Mr Walters, of Tregantle Walk, Swindon, Wiltshire, is due to appear at Leicester Crown Court later this month.
