Daniel McKendrick named as killed A6 pedestrian

A 25-year-old man who died when he was hit by a car on a Leicestershire road has been named by police.

Daniel John Peter McKendrick, from Sileby, died when he was hit by a black VW Polo on the A6 between Loughborough and Barrow Upon Soar.

The road was closed for six hours after the crash which happened near the One Ash Roundabout on Saturday evening.

A police spokeswoman said nobody had been arrested but detectives would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash.
