The man accused of the attempted murder of a Sikh spiritual leader is to face a retrial.

Harjit Singh Toor, 27, from Oadby in Leicestershire, attacked Sri Satguru Uday Singh Ji with an axe at a Leicester temple in August 2013.

Mr Toor admitted wounding but denied the more serious charge and earlier this month a jury at Birmingham Crown Court failed to reach a verdict.

The retrial is due to start at the end of next month.
